On April 15, in a joint press conference on the Big Ten Network, Glenn Robinson III and Nik Stauskas announced that they were declaring themselves eligible for the 2014 NBA draft. On April 26, Horford announced he was transferring to play for the Florida Gators men's basketball team. Horford announced on April 10 that he would use his 5th year of redshirt eligibility by transferring to a graduate program at another school for the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Jordan Morgan graduated after using all of his eligibility. After falling in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Big Ten Conference men's basketball tournament the team's season ended with a 16–16 record. The team struggled without two of its leaders as it went from a 6–3 win–loss record in conference to finish 8–10. At the end of that month, Derrick Walton was sidelined for the season. LeVert, however, suffered a season-ending foot injury in January. Guard Caris LeVert was named a preseason All-American according to numerous media outlets and preseason All-Big Ten according to the Big Ten media. It began the season ranked in both the AP Poll (#24) and Coaches' Poll (#23). The 2014–15 team needed to replace the losses of Nik Stauskas, Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson III to the 2014 NBA draft and Jon Horford and Jordan Morgan to graduation. The team was also coming off four consecutive NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament appearances. The program entered the season coming off its winningest two-year stretch, having won 59 games in the two previous seasons. The 2013–14 team was Big Ten champion, earning the school's first outright title since 1986. ![]() The team was led by 8th year head coach John Beilein, who was voted 2014 Big Ten Coach of the Year by the Big Ten media. This season marked the program's 99th season and its 98th consecutive year as a member of the Big Ten Conference. ![]() The team played its home games in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the 48th consecutive year at the Crisler Center, which has a capacity of 12,707. He is 6-foot-7 and can play multiple positions - like the 4.The 2014–15 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team represented the University of Michigan during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wolverines wanted him out of high school and now he is in the portal looking for a new home. Maybe someone like Gregg Glenn or Youssef Khayat will be ready, but I think Howard should go out and grab someone like Harrison Ingram out of Stanford. Both would probably do fine in a reserve role, but unless something changes this offseason, Michigan needs to figure that part out. Terrance Williams nor Will Tschetter looked the part. Michigan tried multiple lineups last season but the weak spot was always the 4 position. If Michigan is happy with Reed filling out the starting lineup as the starting center, then the Wolverines badly need to find a starting caliber 4. Option three: The other option would be to go find some more help via the portal. Yeah, the offense can get stagnant trying to force-feed the big man, but having a legit offensive threat in the back court (Love) it may free Dickinson up - or the offense in general. He was an All-American and teams had to double him most of the time. So how about going to get Hunter Dickinson back? Dickinson is one of the best players in the conference and has been for the past two seasons. Tarris Reed has the ability to be really good, but he still may be one year away from being an offensive threat. But Michigan is still clearly missing a down-low threat. With the addition of Caleb Love, Michigan has a threat in the backcourt to team with McDaniel. Option 2: You hardly ever see a player enter the transfer portal and then return to that team, but stranger things have happened. While option one is the most logical, option two seems to be a home run. If Michigan could get him back for one last ride, he would add valued depth for the Wolverines by being able to play both the 1 or 2 position behind Dug McDaniel and Caleb Love. Howard brought him in from Princeton to run the offense and be a 3 -and-D player. Option 1: The most logical option is to get Jaelin Llewellyn back for next season. So what should Juwan Howard and the maize and blue do with it? Michigan has 12 scholarships secured for the 2023-2024 season, but the Wolverines have one open spot.
